Ian Fagan, a young man from Hebron has once again agreed to be a quilt ambassador for Close To Home; announcing “Ian’s Gifts 2017”! Ian has lots of experience as a patient at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford and thankfully he is doing just great these days. He and his parents Cindy and Patrick will deliver handmade quilts to children at CCMC for us.
On Friday and Saturday, August 18 and 19 Close To Home will hold “patchwork parties” from 10am – 5pm to make quilts. The event is open to all, quilter or not; everyone will be busy and creative, learning about quiltmaking and giving. We’ll have refreshments and lots of things for volunteers to do. Close To Home sets up all the sewing machines, supplies fabric for patchwork and backing, and other necessary materials. Contributions of fabric or cotton batting are greatly appreciated.
